This project was a cross-cultural collaboration between La Trobe Student Theatre and Hong Kong SHAX Theatre Group. It was staged at La Mama Courthouse as part of the AsiaTOPA 2020 season.
"This reworking of Shakespeare classic 'The Winter’s Tale' explores the impact of colonialism across borders. In 1920s Hong Kong, a fit of jealousy sees civic leader Leontes exile his new daughter, believing she is illegitimate. The child ends up in rural Australia and must create a new life for herself." - The Age, March 6th 2020

Reviews
"...Act Two pays off with greater confidence. Lakshmi Ganapathy (Clown) and Paul Doogood (Shepherd) work wondrously well as a buffoon-duo..." - Jennifer Barry, ArtsHub
"Lakshmi Ganapathy’s clowning experience sparks laughter throughout the second act. She brings strong physicality to her role, which is a delight to watch." - Diana Hodgetts, The Independent Arts Journal
"Lakshmi Ganapathy as the clown shows great comic timing and also adds to the vibrancy of the second part of the show. This is a well-conceived and studied production which reflects well on the key themes of the text." - Patricia di Risio, Stage Whispers
